Events & Activites
Throughout 2021-2022 we will be delivering a series of workshops, live briefings, seminars and events to consult with Black and minoritised women and girls and Imkaan members about the key policy concerns and issues that they face. This will be part of our Movement Building work bringing marginalised voices to the centre of policy work, strategic influence and strategy. These will be safe fully inclusive spaces and we will be using a hybrid of virtual and face to face events (subject to Covid-19 restrictions) to enable accessibility.
Funding Inequality: Addressing Funding Inequalities & Building Funding Resilience in the Black and Minoritised Specialist VAWG Sector
Workshops are designed to embed anti-racist practice in the VAWG sector and to support the implementation of the Charter. We are holding workshops, training and seminars for both the Black and minoritised women's sector/workers as well as the wider violence against women and girls (VAWG) sector.
These workshops will also enable us to work collaboratively with the sector to finalise the implementation of the Charter. By working together we want to develop a Collective Accountability Framework alongside our Ways of Working guidance to ensure that the Anti-Racism Charter addresses inequalities in the sector and makes a difference.
All workshops and seminars are online and free. We will also have BSL interpreters and STTRs (palantypists) to support each session . Please let us know if you have any other specific accessibility requirements or needs and we will do our best to support them.
