Imkaan’s Response to the Women’s Health Consultation

In June we submitted our response to the Women’s Health Consultation, we talked to our member services who told us that Black and minoritised women have additional barriers in accessing adequate mental health support. There is a clear lack of analysis surrounding the multiple forms of trauma victim-survivors face which impacts their mental health and ability to access services. These barriers include structural racism and discrimination which deter women from accessing vital health provisions.
