Our thoughts on the VAWG Strategy

Imkaan are incredibly concerned about the roll out of the recently released VAWG Strategy which fails to reflect the consultation submissions we and our member services submitted. Where is the commitment to specialist services? To intervention? To preventing the interlocking forms of violence that Black and minoritised women and girls experience. The Strategy trivialises the needs of specialist services and further institutionalises abuse. Over the next few months we will be strategically raising our voices about the harm of the Domestic Abuse Act and VAWG Strategy.
